CAIRO - 10 September 2017: Prime Minster Sherif Ismail met Mohamed Abdel Aati, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation on Sunday to discuss the possibility of creating touristic, cultural and entertainment projects, in order to utilize lands along the Nile River.

The meeting addressed a number of studies and proposals to take advantage of the Nile’s waterway, and to create investment opportunities compatible with environmental and economic frameworks, cabinet’s spokesperson Ashrf Sultan stated Sunday. He added that the projects will help improve water distribution through channels, and increase the efficiency of serving agricultural areas along the Nile’s banks.

Ismail emphasized the importance of finalizing the studies to proceed with the projects that will have economic benefits, while taking into account the environmental protection of the river. Ismail recommended giving priority to some areas located on the Nile banks, to make the most of them.

The prime minister also discussed limiting pollution and violations along the Nile.
