MELBOURNE - 9 Sep 2017: Pope of the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria Tawadros II inaugurated Saturday Archangel Michael Monastery for the nuns in Melbourne, Australia.

The Archangel Michael Monastery is considered to be the first monastery for nuns in the southern hemisphere.

Pope Tawadros II received a warm welcome by a number of church officials at his arrival to the monastery.

He made a speech and thanked the church officials for the warm welcome.

Pope Tawadros II started a visit to Australia on Tuesday, where he visited the Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.
