AMMAN - 8 September 2017: Jordanian officials said on Friday that Jordan is not willing to remove Rukban Syrian refugee camp which is located on the northeastern Jordanian border with Syria, Alghad newspaper reported.

The sources noted that the decision to establish the camp was not Jordanian therefore, the decision to remove it will not be Jordanian neither.

If the camp remains, Jordan will coordinate with international organizations, as it currently does, to provide refugees with their needs of water, food and assistance, the sources added.

News reports said on Thursday that Jordan is planning to remove Rukban camp over the next few months.

Rukban camp is currently housing some 50,000 Syrian refugees.
