Pope Tawadros visits Orthodox coptic church HQ in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Australia - 7 September 2017: Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese, currently visiting Australia, visited on Thursday the headquarters of Melbourne archbishopric of the Orthodox coptic church where he was received by Mayor of Melbourne Robert Doyle and Anba Souriyal, the Coptic archbishop of the Australian city.

The Pope praised the outcome of his current overseas tour which also took him to Japan.

During his visit to Australia, the pope presented Manningham mayor Michelle Kleinert with an icon of the Holy Family in Egypt.

The pope and his accompanying delegation - who arrived in Melbourne early Thursday - will meet with the Coptic community in Melbourne.
