CAIRO – 6 September 2017: A dead body was pulled out of the rubble after a five-story building collapsed on Wednesday in Muharrem Bek district of Alexandria.

The dead body retrieved belongs to a lady, who happened to pass by the building as it was collapsing was killed. Another civilian is still trapped beneath the rubble.

Upon collapsing, the five-story building was vacant of people except for one resident, and was officially declared unsafe to live in and in need of restoration since 1991.

Rescuers are currently using earth-moving machines to lift the remaining blocks and slabs.
