XIAMEN, China - 4 Sep 2017: Egyptian President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and his spouse attended a dinner banquet hosted by Chinese President Xi Jinping for the leaders of the 9th BRICS summit.

Sisi also attended a theater performance in Xiamen city on the sidelines of the summit.

Sisi held on the sidelines of the dinner banquet a number of meetings with the leaders of the participating countries including Russian President Vladimir Putin, said presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef in statements.

The two leaders tackled the latest developments in Myanmar where they condemned the violence witnessed in the Asian country, the spokesman underlined.

Both presidents urged the government in Myanmar to take necessary measures to stop the acts of violence which might lead to escalation of tension and spread of terrorism, Youssef reiterated.
