CAIRO, Aug 31 2017: Cairo International Airport has received the 2017 Airport Service Quality (ACQ) award announced by the Airports Council International (ACI).

Egypt won the award as the best African country that provides high-quality measures to improve airport safety levels.

In a statement released on Thursday, Civil Aviation Minister Sherif Fathi congratulated Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation (EHCAAN) Mohamed Saeed, Chairman of Cairo Airport Company Magdy Ishaq and the staff on the award.

The ACI has commended the achievement, which comes upon a review based on Airport Excellence in Safety (APEX) Program that helps member states to improve safety levels according to Standards And Recommended Practices (SARPs) issued by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Civili Aviation Ministry said in a statement.

The ACI has invited Ishaq to receive the award during the general assembly’s meeting due in October in Mauritius, the statement read.
