Shoukry back home after European tour

CAIRO - 30 Aug 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry returned home on Wednesday wrapping up a tour that covered Germany, Belarus and Romania.

The tour was aimed at boosting Egyptian relations with the three countries and holding talks on several regional and international issues of common concern, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid in press statements.

While in Berlin, Shoukry held talks with his German counterpart Sigmar Gabriel.

The two sides also signed a paper on common aspects for joint cooperation in the domain of migration, added the spokesman.

Shoukry also held talks in Belarus with his counterpart Vladimir Makei on bilateral relations along with the recent developments in the Middle East.

Shoukry also conveyed a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko expressing Egypt's keenness on boosting bilateral relations to unprecedented levels, according to the spokesman.

Also, Shoukry held talks in Romania with President Klaus Iohannis where he handed him over a message from president Sisi inviting him to visit Egypt for talks on means of enhancing joint cooperation.

Shoukry also held political talks with his Romanian counterpart Teodor Meleșcanu, added the spokesman.
