Abul Atta: Egypt to raise effectiveness of peacekeeping operations

CAIRO - 29 August 2017: To ensure effective peacekeeping operations, it is necessary to introduce radical changes to the philosophy of international peace and security, Egypt's Permanent Representative to the UN Ambassador Amr Abul Atta said.

Egypt mainly aims at creating a strategy to raise the efficiency and effectiveness of peacekeeping operations, he said.

Abul Atta expressed hope that today's session would come up with a clear vision to support the role played by peacekeeping operations to stop violence, protect civilians and bring permanent peace.
