CAIRO - 28 Aug 2017: The Foreign Ministry urged on Monday Egyptian nationals to abide by regulations organizing Schengen area and to just enter the EU state that issued entry visa.

Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Khaled Rezq stressed that Egyptians can only enter the European country that issued them the visa and not any other country.

The remarks came after many Egyptians were denied entry at Frankfurt airport because they are not travelling to the European country that granted them the visa entry.

The Egyptians complained that travel agencies did not tell them to stick to the country that issued them the visa and that they sought they could enter any European country with their Schengen visa.

According to Schengen area regulations, nationals seeking to visit several Schengen countries must apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country in which they will stay the longest.

If the nationals do not have a main destination, they should apply for a visa at the Embassy or Consulate of the country that is their first point of entry.
