CAIRO - 27 August 2017: Head of the National Press Authority (NPA) and chairmen of the national press institutions have called for facing rumors and lies mongered by media platforms seeking to undermine the Egyptian state.

During their meeting at the headquarters of Middle East News Agency (MENA), they asserted that uncovering the truth and informing the public opinion is the best way to face rumors and lies.

"Foiling plots to undermine the state should be through providing true and fast information to the audience," they noted.

Karam Gabr, head of the National Press Authority, said the authority and the national press institutions are determined to defending the Egyptian state and strengthening its pillars in the face of hostile media
