CAIRO – 26 August 2017: Chairman of the Joint Intelligence Committee Charles Farr arrived in Cairo on Saturday to meet with a number of officials, to review Egypt’s efforts in fighting terrorism and to discuss ways of security cooperation.

The talks will also include efforts exerted by Egyptian authorities to confront terrorism and to dry up its sources, especially in North Sinai; and how the Egyptian state is combating extremism through Al-Azhar. The talks will also include efforts to combat illegal immigration and its underlying causes.

Egyptian officials will also view British plans to counter terrorism. The visit came a few days following the visit of Elastair Burt, British Secretary of State for Middle East and North Africa.
