RAMALLAH - 24 August 2017: Palestinian students on Thursday staged a sit-in outside Al Aqsa Mosque after Israeli troops prevented them from entering their schools with their bags.

Earlier in the day, the administration of a secondary school in the vicinity of Al Aqsa mosque started to hand over books to students at the Imam Ghazali yard outside the mosque's Lions Gate after Israeli forces refused to allow such books into the school under the pretext of being issued by the Palestinian Authority.

Palestinian officials, meanwhile, have called on students to go on with their protests until they are allowed to enter their school
