CAIRO - 21 August 2017: The Egyptian air forces have valiantly destroyed nine four wheel drive vehicle, loaded with weapons on the western borders shared with Libya, Ministry of Defense announced on its official page on Monday.

These military combats came within the framework of the armed forces and its major branches’ highlighted efforts in maintaining the security of the state borders at all strategic levels. The airstrikes were launched in the wake of receiving intelligence information regarding the existence of terrorists nearby Egypt’s western borders.

The Air Forces took off to comb the border area over the past 48 hours, in an attempt to detect, track enemy targets and deal with them on the commands of the General Command of the Armed Forces. The forces succeeded in monitoring and destroying 9 vehicles loaded with quantities of weapons, ammunition and contraband. Border Guard elements are perusing, prosecuting and arresting criminal elements.

In cooperation with the law enforcement forces of the Second Field Army, and in coincidence with the air force launched a new strike targeting a high-risk terrorist outpost, used as a base for the launching of takfiri elements as the storage of weapons and improvised explosive devices, which led to their complete destruction near the border strip in Rafah, North Sinai.
