CAIRO - 21 August 2017: Cairo and Moscow have made progress in discussions tackling the resumption of Russian flights to Egypt, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry said during a joint press conference in Moscow Monday.

Shoukry said that Egypt is looking forward to resuming direct Russian flights and tourism flow to Egyptian resorts.

Moscow has suspended flights to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh following a Russian jet crash that killed all 224 passengers on board in 2014. Official investigation committee looking into the reason of the accident has yet to issue its final report. After the crash, western intelligence bodies supported scenarios that a terror attack was behind the downing of the plane.

Both leaders held a press conference to highlight bilateral political, economic and commercial relations.
