Tourist bus driver arrested after crash killing 5, injuring 50

CAIRO-18 August 2017: The driver of a tourist bus that collided with another bus Friday in Ain Sokhna leaving five dead was arrested.

Two buses coming from Cairo crashed on Katameya - Ain Sokhna Road in Suez governorate, north eastern Egypt. Five people were announced dead and at least 40 others were injured as a result of the collision.

Sources cited different reasons for the accident. Ahmed Hamza, an ambulance attendant, told Egypt Today that one of the injured people said that the accident occurred because the bus driver slept while he was driving.

A security source said that the collision happened because the bus tire exploded causing the bus to flip over.

The injured were transferred to Suez General Hospital to received required treatment.
