CAIRO – 17 August 2017: The new regional ring road will be completed early next year, Chairman of the Roads and Bridges Authority Adel Turk revealed on Wednesday during his interview on ‘DMC evening,’ broadcasted on private satellite channel DMC.
Turk further explained that the final phase of the regional ring road project that AHS originally launched in 2008 is seeing 90 km long highways, subsuming 120 bridges and tunnels.
The regional ring road project aims at linking Egypt’s main routes, which in turn would offset in booming the trade interactions between Upper and Lower Egypt governorates.
In addition, it aims to ease the traffic movement in Greater Cairo, where traffic congestion usually peaks.
