RAMALLAH - 17 August 2017: Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh asserted that the Palestinian leadership is currently focusing on four different files.

In statements on Thursday, he said that the first file is preparing for the August 24 visit of US envoys for the peace process Jared Kushner and Jason Greenblatt.

He added that the Palestinian leadership is working on persuading the US administration to launch concrete negotiations based on the two-state solution to establish an independent State of Palestine with al Quds as its capital.

The second file aims at persuading Hamas Movement to dismantle its administrative committee to enable the Palestinian government to assume its responsibilities in the West Bank.

The third file focuses on urging Hamas to join efforts with the Palestinian government to hold legislative and presidential elections.

The fourth file aims at preparing for a new round of the Palestinian National Council (PNC) to select new leaderships. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas wants to hold a new round of the PNC as soon as possible, Abu Rudeineh said.
