GAZA CITY - 17 August 2017: Four Palestinians were injured in the wee hours of Thursday when a suicide bomber blew himself up on the southern borderline of the Gaza Strip, east of the Rafah crossing with Egypt.

One of those injured is in critical condition.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Palestinian Interior Ministry in Gaza City Iyad al Bozum said that the attack took place when Palestinian border guards asked two men to stop as they approached the borders.

One of the men blew himself up and was killed on the spot, while the other was injured.

A number of security personnel was injured, including one in serious condition.

The injured were moved to Abu Yousef Al Najjar Hospital.

Security bodies are currently conducting investigations into the incident.
