CAIRO -13 August 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed with his Guinean counterpart Hadja Makale Camara means of fostering bilateral relations, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said on Saturday.

Camara is currently visiting Cairo after an invitation from Shoukry during their talks on the sidelines of the meeting of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) at the level of foreign ministers that was held earlier in Abidjan.

Shoukry hailed Camara’s visit to Cairo especially that it comes after Guinean President Alpha Conde’s visit in May. He also pointed out that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has directed to follow up the implementation of the outcome of the visit including operating a direct flight between the two countries as well as sending an Egyptian delegation to Guinea to inspect dams projects planned to be implemented in the African country.

Shoukry also said he is looking forward to holding the next round of the Egyptian-Guinean joint committee planned to be held at the level of foreign ministers in November.

The talks also discussed coordinating efforts in various international arenas as well as Guinea’s support for Egypt’s candidate for the post of UNESCO director-general Moushira Khattab.

During the meeting, Camara also lauded Egypt’s efforts to enhance peace, security and stability in the Middle East, Africa and the whole world.
