CAIRO- 12 August 2017: The death toll from the Alexandria train collision has risen to 41, and 47 citizens have left the hospital after receiving full treatment, with 132 remaining at the hospital so far, Khaled Magahed, spokesman of the Ministry of Health, announced on Saturday.

Two passenger trains collided in Alexandria on Friday, killing 41 people and injuring more than 120 others.

He also said that it is expected that more injured could leave the hospital within the next few hours and days, as most of the injuries are mild to moderate; although, there are twelve cases in intensive care.

The victims were transferred to morgues and hospitals through the assistance of 82 ambulances, Megahed added.

Hours after the incident on Friday, Minister of Health Ahmed Emad El-Din, accompanied by Minister of Social Solidarity Ghada Waly, visited hospitals where the victims were transferred to in Alexandria to ensure that they are receiving proper care.
