CAIRO - 11 August 2017: Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday said that any breakthrough in the Qatari crisis depends on Doha's compliance with the demands of the anti-terror states, namely Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Bahrain.

Shoukry made the remarks during his meeting with US envoy on Qatar crisis General Anthony Zinni and Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Arabian Gulf Affairs Timothy Lenderking.

During the meeting, Shoukry briefed the US officials on Egypt’s concerns about the Qatari role in sponsoring terrorism and extremism, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The top Egyptian diplomat highlighted Qatar’s interference in the affairs of the Arab countries, threatening the Arab regional security and the international peace and security.

Zinni, for his part, informed Shoukry of the outcome of his meetings with Gulf officials before visiting Cairo, the spokesman said.
