CAIRO - 10 August 2017: Head of the Astronomy Department at the National Research Institute of Astronomy and Geophysics (NRIAG ) Ashraf Latif Tadrus said that a meteor shower will begin mid night and till Sunday.

The meteor fall is a magnificent phenomenon that can be followed up with the naked eye without using telescopes, Tadrus noted, adding that it does not harm the individual's general hygiene or the earth in general.

Tadrus told MENA on Thursday that the meteor shower is caused by the entry of waste of comets from the outer space to the atmosphere.

He called on the Egyptians to follow up this phenomenon.
