CAIRO- 10 August 2017: President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi has signed a 375 million Saudi riyal ($ 100 million) loan agreement with Saudi Fund for Development to expand the Cairo power Generation project to a total capacity of 650 MW, according to the Official newspaper on Thursday.

Egypt has also established a turbine production plant for wind power generation and a solar power plant, in addition to signing an agreement with Siemens for the establishment of three power plants to be able to meet the increasing demand of electricity and improve the performance of the grid by expanding generating capacity.

In addition, Egypt and Russia also finished negotiating the terms of Dabaa nuclear plant contracts that will consist of four units generating 1200 MW.
