GAZA CITY - 9 Aug 2017: Hamas balked at Tuesday's Israeli shelling of Hamas resistance posts, considering this as a major escalation.

Hamas Spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said Israel should bear the consequences of the attack.

A number of Palestinians were injured in Israeli raids on the Gaza Strip late Tuesday.

Three cases checked into hospital, including one in a serious condition, local sources told MENA.

The Israeli army spokesman said the attack comes in retaliation for a projectile launched from Gaza Strip at an open area in the Ashkelon region of Israel, no one was injured.
