MANILA– 6 August 2017: Russian Foreign Ministry Sergey Lavrov met on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu on sidelines of ASEAN regional form.

Both parties discussed the condition in Syria especially boosting ceasing fire and battles and supporting political settlement for the crisis, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its official website.

Lavrov and Cavusoglu also reviewed the matters relating to the Russian-Turkish relations, Sputnik news quoted the statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Meanwhile, Lavrov and his U.S. counterpart Rex Tillerson held a meeting for the first time after imposing U.S. sanctions against Russia, Iran and North Korea.
