CAIRO - 5 August 2017: National Press Authority Chairman Karam Gabr asserted that reforming the national press institutions will help to reform all Egyptian press institutions.

This came during his speech at the second meeting of the National Press Authority held at Al Ahram headquarters on Saturday.

He added that the national institutions are already doing their role while some websites are spreading criminal ideologies via social media networks in order to weaken the society in face of terrorism.

The upcoming period will witness a number of meetings for the authority’s members, Gabr said, adding that they are expected to meet on Saturday at Al Akhbar headquarters upon invitation from its board of directors chairman Yasser Rizk.

The meeting was also attended by members of the National Press Authority as well as board chairpersons and editors-in-chief of state-run press institutions.
