DAMASCUS - 4 August 2017: The terrorist group of Daesh has imposed compulsory conscription in Syria's Deir Ezzor as the Syrian army is tightening its grip on the province, according to Syrian sources.

The group circulated a statement stating that the recruitment has become obligatory for those who are 20-30 years old, Russia Today quoted the sources as saying on Friday.

New recruits will undergo military training to join the group's fighters, said the statement.

This step came as the Syrian army had started a military operation to retake the province.
