TRIPOLI - 4 August 2017: Twenty-five decomposed bodies were found in a mass grave in the Libyan city of Sirte, Alwasat news website reported Friday.

Sirte Mayor Mukhtar al Maadani told the Libyan website that he made a visit to the location of the mass grave along with the Red Crescent team in Sirte.

No documents were found to reveal the identities of the bodies, he said.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias in addition to an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi in 2011.
