ADEN – 4 August 2017: The Yemeni army took control of the center of Mocha city in western Taiz after clashes with militias loyal to Houthis and former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, during which eight militants were killed, a Yemeni military source said.

The army forces set fire to military vehicles belonging to the Houthi and Saleh militias who were forced to retreat, the source told Yemen’s state-run news agency.

The source noted that controlling Mocha is a big victory for the national army amid its military operation that aims to lift the Houthis’ siege of Taiz.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition warplanes shelled sites and gatherings of the militias in Mocha, Yakhtul village and al Hamly area
