CAIRO - 3 August 2017: Leaders of Egyptian political parties asserted the importance of unity in order to confront internal and external conspiracies against Egypt that aim to undermine its stability, harm national unity and obstruct the political leadership’s efforts to achieve political, economic, legislative and social reform.

The political figures made the remarks during a symposium organized Thursday by MENA and chaired by its board chairman and editor-in-chief Ali Hassan.

The symposium, dubbed “Together against anti-state conspiracies”, was attended by former foreign minister and senior leader at Egypt Support Coalition Mohamed el Orabi, chairman of Free Egyptians Party Essam Khalil, head of the Nation’s Future Party Ashraf Rashad, honorary president of the Unionist Party Refaat el Saeed, head of the Unionist Party Sayed Abdel Aal, chairman of the Republican People’s Party Hazem Omar in addition to assistant chairman of Homeland Defenders Party Mohamed el Ghobashy.

The attendees underscored the necessity of providing all forms of support for the political leadership, topped by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, after it has proven its ability to take difficult decisions to achieve long-awaited reforms in all fields and to maintain political, economic and security stability.

They also affirmed the importance of supporting the state in its war against terrorism and drying up its resources.

Meanwhile, MENA editor-in-chief Ali Hassan stressed that the danger of terrorism is not only confined to Egypt, but it can also be extended to several countries in the Arab region.

Hassan also urged the international community to shoulder its responsibility in taking measures and imposing sanctions against the sponsors of terrorism.
