KANO - 2 August 2017: Nigerian local militias said Wednesday that they found decapitated bodies of three villagers in Borno state north east of Nigeria, where Boko Haram movement is active.

Local vigilante fighting Boko Haram Ibrahim Liman said that the three villagers were abducted while driving a truck loaded with firewood 40 kms from Maiduguri, the capital of Borno.

The truck and goods were reportedly abandoned near the decapitated bodies on the roadside.

Boko Haram's Islamist insurgency has left over 20,000 people killed and 2.6 million others displaced.

Most of the displaced persons rely on the food aid provided by national and international agencies and sell firewood in camps to earn money.
