CAIRO - 2 August 2017: For a different pop of color, Suez Governor Ahmed Hamed issued instructions to paint the sidewalks in the streets of Suez Governorate in pink, but was followed by sarcastic campaigns of the color by the people.

After the sidewalks in the streets of ‘District 40,’ the largest streets of the governorate, were painted in pink, the governor issues decisions to change the color from pink to brown.

This decision to paint the sidewalks in brown comes after 10 days only from painting them in pink, after people made fun of the pink painted sidewalks.

This comes as part of the governor's plan to develop the streets and beautify the sidewalks in all districts of the governorate of Suez.

In 2015, a replica of the original statue of Queen Nefertiti of Egypt, that was created by the famous royal Egyptian sculptor Thutmose in 1345 BC and was unearthed in 1912, was installed in the city of Samalout, in Minya Governorate; however, the replica bore little resemblance to the original statue and was so widely mocked by hundreds of people on social media that it was removed by officials.
