WASHINGTON – 2 August 2017: US President Donald Trump defended his habit of going on Twitter on Tuesday, saying it’s the "only way for me to get the truth out", New York Post reported.

"Only the Fake News Media and Trump enemies want me to stop using Social Media. Only way for me to get the truth out," he wrote on Twitter.

Trump has used the social messaging site to attack his critics, tout his agenda and​ praise his supporters.

Trump has used Twitter to blast the "unfair" media for not reporting on issues important to him and for not honestly covering his administration.

Earlier, he tweeted about the growth in the economy, criticizing the media for ignoring ​the story.
