RAMALLAH - 1 August 2017: Hundreds of Israeli settlers stormed Al Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday to mark the occasion of the destruction of the alleged Temple of Solomon.

Till now more than 400 Israeli settlers have stormed the courtyard of the holy Mosque of Al Aqsa early Tuesday amid tight security measures by Israeli police, witnesses told MENA.

Israeli police banned Muslims from entering Al Aqsa Mosque and turned it into a military zone to protect Israeli settlers inside, witnesses added.

Clashes between Israeli settlers and Palestinians took place at al Majlis gate and Israeli forces interfered to attack Palestinians.

Extremist settlers have called earlier for storming Al Aqsa Mosque on the occasion of the "Temple destruction" of the alleged Temple of Solomon which marks August 9.

On this occasion Jewish people fast, pray and grieve for the destruction of alleged Temple of Solomon.
