Egypt condemns Israeli incursion on UNRWA's training center

CAIRO - 28 July 2-26: Egypt strongly condemned on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Israeli occupation forces’ raid on the Kalandia Training Center, which is affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), and the detention of students and staff inside the facility.

Egypt said the incident represents a blatant violation of the sanctity of United Nations premises and constitutes a continuation of the ongoing Israeli escalation.

Egypt also deplored the repeated, condemned and unjustified violations in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank.

It described such actions as serious breaches of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention concerning the protection of civilians under occupation.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates on Tuesday, Egypt reaffirmed its categorical rejection of all measures aimed at undermining UNRWA’s mandate or obstructing the agency’s humanitarian and relief duties.

Egypt called on the international community, the United Nations and the UN Security Council to assume their responsibilities and take urgent measures to halt repeated Israeli violations against UN facilities, ensure the protection of UNRWA and enable it to continue carrying out its UN mandate, contributing to the preservation of the rights of Palestinian refugees in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions.
