Egyptian companies ready to contribute to reconstruction of Sudan: FM

CAIRO – 27 July 2026: Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad, held a telephone conversation with Mr. Mohi El-Din Salem, Sudan's Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as part of the ongoing consultation and coordination between the two brotherly countries. He affirmed Egypt’s support for reconstruction of Sudan.

The two ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various sectors, reflecting the strategic partnership between Egypt and Sudan. 

They underscored their determination to advance the common interests of both countries and their peoples while reinforcing the longstanding ties of cooperation and coordination between them.

Minister Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's steadfast support for Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions. He stressed the importance of respecting Sudan's sovereignty and security, including by neighboring countries, and reaffirmed the principle of Sudanese ownership of the political process. 

He also emphasized the need to support efforts aimed at restoring stability, ending the conflict, and achieving a comprehensive political settlement that preserves Sudan's sovereignty and meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people for security, stability, and development.

The Minister further affirmed Egypt's readiness, together with Egyptian companies, to contribute to Sudan's reconstruction once hostilities have ceased and security and peace have been restored. He highlighted the strategic relationship between the two countries and the extensive experience of Egyptian companies in construction and reconstruction projects.

For his part, the Sudanese Foreign Minister expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's support at all levels, commending its consistent position in support of Sudan's unity and stability. He also outlined the Sudanese government's efforts to address current challenges and reaffirmed the commitment to maintaining close coordination and consultation with Egypt in the period ahead to serve the interests of both countries and their peoples. He expressed his hope for significant Egyptian participation in Sudan's future reconstruction programs.
