CAIRO – 27 July 2026: The Gaza Peace Council affirmed that recent steps represent a significant development toward bringing peace, prosperity, and development to the Gaza Strip, noting that the International Stabilization Force will play a pivotal role in expanding humanitarian services and supporting reconstruction efforts.
In a statement issued on Sunday, the Council explained that these efforts will help take practical steps toward introducing a new model of governance and security, as well as providing economic opportunities to foster stability and promote development across the Strip.
Gaza Peace Council Representative Nikolay Mladenov welcomed the steps taken by the Israeli government to enable the deployment of the International Stabilization Force in the Gaza Strip, calling them an essential part of the agreed framework for implementing UN Security Council Resolution 2803.
Mladenov stated that these measures will support efforts to stabilize the Strip, contribute to disarmament, and pave the way for transferring Gaza's administration to an effective Palestinian transitional authority under the supervision of the National Committee for the Administration of Gaza.
He added that the priority at this stage is to advance the 20-point plan for Gaza, including the roadmap presented by mediators, to ensure agreed arrangements are fulfilled and long-term stability is maintained.
