CAIRO – 26 July 2026: Egypt is following with deep concern the attacks carried out by Israeli settlers against Palestinian civilians and a number of villages in the West Bank, as well as the acts of violence, intimidation, the burning of homes, property, and religious sites, and assaults on civilians.

These actions represent an extension of systematic policies that risk further inflaming tensions and undermining the prospects for achieving peace and stability, Egypt added in a statement on Sunday.

Egypt condemned and rejected all acts of violence and reprehensible practices committed by Israeli settlers against the Palestinian people. “These actions constitute a flagrant violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Fourth Geneva Convention,” the statement read.

These actions also represent a clear breach of the relevant international legitimacy resolutions, including United Nations Security Council Resolution 2334, which affirms the illegality of Israeli settlements and calls for the complete cessation of settlement activities, the statement said.

So, Egypt called on the international community and all relevant parties to fulfill their legal and moral responsibilities by taking decisive measures to halt settler attacks and ensure protection for the Palestinian people.

Egypt also underscored the importance of building on the declared position of US President Donald Trump rejecting the annexation of Palestinian territory and the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land. It further stresses the need to continue working towards implementing the US President's plan in a manner that contributes to de-escalation, improves humanitarian conditions, and creates the necessary conditions for the resumption of the political process, ultimately leading to the achievement of a just and comprehensive peace.
