El-Sisi calls for just peace, end to Middle East conflicts on 1952 Revolution anniversary

CAIRO – 23 July 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has called on countries around the world to make every effort to end wars and conflicts, particularly in the Middle East, stressing that a just peace can ensure stability and prosperity for all peoples.

Speaking in a televised address marking the 74th anniversary of the July 23, 1952 Revolution on Thursday, El-Sisi delivered “a message of peace” amid the region's "painful and harsh circumstances."

He urged countries to confront “destructive tendencies aimed at perpetuating hatred, bloodshed and destruction.”

The president stressed that “serious efforts to achieve a just peace must not cease,” saying such a peace would guarantee stability and prosperity for all peoples.

“The world is big enough for everyone," El-Sisi said, adding that “history has shown violence only begets more violence, and its known result is ruin and destruction.”

The president also reaffirmed Egypt's longstanding rejection of any aggression against fellow Arab states, calling on all concerned parties to refrain from the use of force, exercise self-restraint, de-escalate tensions, and return to the negotiating table in the interest of peace and the rights of peoples.

 

Addressing Egyptians, El-Sisi said his second message is one of hope and optimism.

He expressed confidence that the future will be better as the country continues to build a promising future based on scientific planning, combat corruption in all its forms, and pursue development and peace.

Legacy of the July Revolution

Earlier in his address, El-Sisi commemorated the July 23 Revolution, saying its principles “served as a beacon that illuminated the path for peoples across the developing world and ignited the flame of liberation throughout our Arab nation and the African continent.”

“Through it, Egypt regained its sovereignty and consolidated its national decision independence, one that remains unshakeable and cannot be compromised,” El Sisi said.

The preside highlighted that Egyptians continue to draw lessons and insights from this revolution, particularly those centered on achieving social justice and building a strong state.

“Yet, our engagement goes beyond conscious reflection; we actively take measures and constructively build upon the successes of that experience.”

“We also learn from the shortcomings of its journey, ensuring that we continue to construct the New Republic with deep understanding and foresight: a modern, advanced, and strong Egypt, fully capable of safeguarding the rights of its people and protecting its national assets.”

He also highlighted Egypt’s celebration of the June 30 Revolution only days before, saying that recalling these national occasions is “not merely a celebration.”

Instead, they represent “an opportunity to renew our loyalty and appreciation for our heroes, to evaluate our experiences, and to draw lessons and insights to avoid mistakes, build upon our achievements, and propel our beloved Egypt towards a brighter future, befitting its esteemed rank among nations.”

Nation-Building Efforts

Reviewing the country's progress since 2014, El-Sisi said Egypt has pressed ahead with comprehensive development, while confronting and beating terrorism.

Egypt has also cemented the freedom of belief, erected houses of worship, laid down a modern infrastructure, cleared slums, built new cities, reclaimed deserts, and established both conventional and renewable power plants, the president said.

He underlined the state’s intensified efforts to boost oil and gas discoveries, thereby reinforcing its economic security and cementing the country’s position as a regional energy hub.

Meanwhile, Egypt has worked assiduously to develop the education and healthcare systems, and inaugurated many world-class museums to reintroduce its ancient civilization to the world in its most glorious image, El-Sisi said.

“Tourism has received dedicated attention to reinforce Egypt's standing as a premier global destination, even as we strive relentlessly to localize industry and achieve the progress and prosperity to which we aspire,” he added.

The president also cited the Decent Life (Haya Karima) initiative dedicated to help millions of Egyptians live in a dignified environment worthy of their human dignity.

This effort, El-Sisi emphasized, embodies the vision of a modern state that “blends strength with justice, development with freedom, and steadfastly carves its path toward the future with unwavering confidence.”

Regional Turmoil and National Resilience

El-Sisi stressed that Egypt has forged ahead on its path, despite the harsh circumstances, immense pressures, and unprecedented challenges surrounding it.

This all comes “within a region turbulent with wars and successive crises that have, most regrettably, ravaged many of its nations.”

“Despite the severe economic losses incurred by the Egyptian state due to factors entirely beyond its control, Egypt has pressed forward, remaining steadfast in its approach and resolute on its path. It refuses to stray from its ultimate goal: building the future and safeguarding the nation’s assets.”

The president reaffirmed that the state’s success in preserving Egypt’s security and stability and in overcoming the crises and challenges it has faced and continues to confront “would never have been possible without the resolve of the Egyptian people.”

“It is their tireless work, dedication, patience, deep awareness of surrounding circumstances, and unwavering commitment to the stability of the state that have stood firm against every threat targeting Egypt.”

El-Sisi extended tribute to the proud Egyptian people, their valiant Armed Forces, the civil police, and all state institutions for “standing united in the face of challenges and holding firm to the identity of the Egyptian state.”

“I also pay special tribute to our righteous martyrs, who ascended in defense of the homeland, serving as beacons that illuminate our path of glory and dignity.”

The president sent a message of reassurance for Egyptians amid regional turbulence, stating that “by the grace of Allah and through the strength of its great people, no one can ever harm Egypt or compromise its assets.”

Egypt “is guarded by divine providence, shielded by the awareness of its people, and safeguarded by the power of its soldiers, remaining, now and forever, an impenetrable fortress and a steadfast cornerstone of security and stability.”
