240th "Zad Al Ezza" convoy starts entering for Gaza

CAIRO - 22 July 2026: The 240th "Zad Al Ezza... From Egypt to Gaza" humanitarian aid convoy started crossing Rafah terminal on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, toward Karam Abu Salem Crossing, in preparation for the delivery of relief supplies to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

A reliable source said the convoy's trucks are carrying large quantities of humanitarian and food aid, including food parcels, flour, fresh bread, legumes, canned food, medicines, personal hygiene supplies, tents, clothing and petroleum products.

The source noted that the trucks are subject to inspection by the Israeli authorities before being allowed to enter the Gaza Strip.

Israeli authorities closed the crossings linking the Gaza Strip on March 2, 2025, following the expiration of the first phase of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the failure to reach an agreement to extend the truce.

The ceasefire was subsequently breached with intensive airstrikes on March 18, 2025, followed by renewed ground incursions into various parts of the Gaza Strip from which Israeli forces had previously withdrawn.

Israeli authorities also prevented the entry of humanitarian aid trucks, fuel, and shelter supplies for displaced Palestinians who had lost their homes during the war, and refused to allow the entry of heavy equipment needed for rubble removal and reconstruction.
