CAIRO – 20 July 2026: Bahrain's air defense systems have intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missles within the country's airspace, according to Bahraini state television.
Meanwhile, the U.S. Embassy in Bahrain issued a warning on Sunday stating that it had received information indicating Iran might be targeting unspecified locations in the capital, Manama. The embassy urged all U.S. citizens to exercise caution, follow instructions from local authorities, and monitor official channels for further updates.
In parallel developments, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced on Sunday that it had carried out a series of high-profile military operations. These included shooting down an advanced drone and targeting U.S. military sites and bases in Jordan.
In a series of statements, the IRGC claimed it destroyed 20 warehouses utilized by U.S. forces in Jordan's Azraq region, asserting that the strike resulted in dozens of military casualties. The group also confirmed targeting U.S. military aircraft at Aqaba Airport with missiles, causing material damage to several planes.
In response to the hostilities, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Iranian chargé d'affaires in Amman. The ministry delivered a strongly worded protest against what it labeled as continuous, blatant, and unjustified Iranian attacks targeting the Kingdom’s territory, as well as the provocative and inflammatory statements issued by Iranian officials regarding Jordan.
