CAIRO – 18 July 2026: Two US service members were killed and another remains missing after Iranian ballistic missile and drone attacks on Jordan, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Saturday.

CENTCOM said the casualties occurred on Friday as US and “partner forces” defended against the attacks.

The command added that four US service members were medically evacuated to hospitals in Jordan but have since been discharged. Other personnel treated for minor injuries have returned to duty.

Jordan's air defenses intercepted and shot down 10 Iranian missiles targeting the kingdom, the Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported on Saturday, citing the Jordanian military.

The US has intensified its strikes on Iran, while Tehran has retaliated with attacks on Gulf states since President Donald Trump declared last week that the interim ceasefire is "over," raising the prospect of a return to all-out war.
