CAIRO – 18 July 2026: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on Saturday said he has directed the relevant ministers to closely monitor the implementation of agreed Egypt-Tanzania projects and remove any obstacles to their execution.
El-Sisi made the remarks during the closing session of a meeting for Egyptian and Tanzanian business leaders in Dar es Salaam, which he attended alongside Tanzanian President Samia Hassan on the sidelines of his official visit to the East African country.
According to the Egyptian presidency, the meeting brought together more than 35 Egyptian business leaders and around 120 of their Tanzanian counterparts.
Addressing the meeting, El-Sisi said he has directed the provision of necessary support to translate the outcomes of the Egyptian-Tanzanian business forum into actual investments and development partnerships.
The president said his talks with Hassan have produced practical outcomes in the trade and investment sectors, expressing hope that these results would move to the implementation stage.
The two leaders witnessed the signing of two memoranda of understanding in the fields of transport, electricity and renewable energy earlier in the day.
El-Sisi said the two sides have agreed to move forward with joint projects in agriculture and livestock.
He added that he ordered a follow up on the implementation of the agreed initiatives and establish clear mechanisms to translate them into tangible projects.
The two sides have also agreed on cooperation in port development, maritime and rail connectivity, logistics zones, roads, and infrastructure to facilitate trade and goods movement, and support the capitalization on Tanzania's strategic location, he added.
El-Sisi said the two countries agreed on cooperation in technology, science, and the exchange of expertise to support development and deepen economic integration between the two countries.
The president stressed the pivotal role of the private sector in advancing bilateral investment ties.
He said Egypt and Tanzania's economic relations rest on promising foundations and expressed confidence that the private sectors in both countries could help develop value-added projects, open new markets, and support the two nations' development goals.
According to the presidency, representatives of the Egyptian and Tanzanian business communities welcomed efforts to deepen bilateral cooperation.
They expressed their commitment to expanding existing investments and strengthening communication between the two countries' private sectors to advance economic relations.
