CAIRO – 31 July 2017: Egypt strongly condemned on Monday the terrorist attack by al Shabaab movement targeting the African Union Mission to Somalia (AMISOM).

In a statement released on Monday, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry expressed condolence to the government and families of the victims, noting that Egypt stands with the Somali government, its people and the AMISOM members against terrorism.

Some 23 Soldiers from AMISOM and one Somali soldier were killed in a terrorist attack in Polamir area southwest of the Somali capital Mogadishu.
