CAIRO – 17 July 2026: The Cabinet's Media Center issued a statement on its social media platforms clarifying the truth regarding a circulating video. The video features individuals and companies claiming to offer job opportunities abroad, defrauding citizens by alleging a lack of government oversight.

In coordination with the Ministry of Labor, the Media Center confirmed that all legitimate domestic and international job opportunities are announced exclusively through the Ministry's official channels, including its website and official Facebook page. The published advertisements include all relevant details, including required professions, eligibility criteria, and application procedures.

The Ministry emphasized that applying for these jobs is entirely free of charge, no fees are collected from applicants, and no intermediaries are involved.

As the sole official body responsible for overseeing the deployment of Egyptian workers abroad, the Ministry implements bilateral labor agreements and memoranda of understanding signed with sister and friendly nations. It directly supervises all stages of worker selection in coordination with counterpart government agencies in receiving countries to ensure procedural integrity and protect citizens' rights.

The Ministry affirmed its full commitment to pursuing legal action, in coordination with security agencies and relevant authorities, against any entities involved in promoting fraudulent job advertisements or collecting money from citizens under the pretext of providing employment.

To verify the legitimacy of a job opportunity, citizens can visit the General Administration of Employment at the Ministry of Labor's old headquarters at 3 Youssef Abbas Street, Nasr City, Cairo, or contact any governorate labor directorate. Furthermore, individuals can verify the licensing of any overseas employment agency by contacting the General Administration of Employment Agencies at the same Nasr City headquarters.

The Media Center urges all citizens wishing to work abroad to adhere strictly to official, approved channels and to avoid unapproved intermediaries, employment offices, or unofficial social media platforms to protect themselves from fraud.
