CAIRO – 17 July 2026: A child was injured Friday by shrapnel from an intercepted Iranian missile attack, according to Qatar’s Ministry of Interior. The child is currently receiving medical care.
In a statement carried by the official Qatar News Agency, the ministry said security forces and civil defense teams launched emergency response procedures following the morning attack.
Based on field findings and emergency reports, the ministry confirmed that falling shrapnel from the interception caused the child's injuries.
Officials urged the public to rely only on official sources and to refrain from sharing rumors, unverified information, or unapproved images and videos, warning of legal repercussions for spreading misinformation.
The ministry added that security forces remain on high alert to ensure public safety and maintain normal public services.
