CAIRO – 16 July 2026: The Director of the General Intelligence Service, Hassan Rashad, met on Thursday with the Libyan Deputy Minister of Defense, Abdul Salam Al-Zoubi, to discuss several issues of mutual interest.
The meeting addressed ways to maintain stability in Libya and support international efforts aimed at unifying and integrating the Libyan military forces. Both officials emphasized that these steps are crucial to paving the way for a comprehensive political agreement that contributes to strengthening regional security and stability.
The two sides also discussed mechanisms for enhancing security cooperation between Egypt and Libya in a manner that serves the common interests of both brotherly countries and supports collective efforts to confront security challenges in the region.
