CAIRO – 16 July 2026: The Egyptian government is preparing to hold a conference on media development upon a directive from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
President El-Sisi called for the conference to be held annually at the beginning of December.
During the weekly Cabinet meeting on Thursday, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said a meeting had been held with the Minister of State for Information and the heads of media and press councils and regulatory bodies to develop a comprehensive executive plan for organizing the event.
On July 4, during his speech at the inauguration of the State Strategic Command Center in the New Administrative Capital, President El-Sisi directed the relevant authorities, in coordination with media and press bodies, to organize an annual conference on December 3 under his patronage.
The conference will review the state of the Egyptian media sector, discuss its challenges and opportunities, and produce practical recommendations to support its continued development.
