CAIRO - 15 July 2026: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly affirmed on Wednesday that Egypt is exerting every effort to support regional peace and security, emphasizing that stability serves the interests of both the region and the wider world.
Speaking at a press conference, Madbouly highlighted ongoing Egyptian diplomatic efforts—led by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs—to broker a lasting agreement to end the conflict between the United States and Iran. He warned that a prolonged conflict yields no winners, only widespread, damaging repercussions.
During the briefing, the Prime Minister also offered his sincere condolences on the passing of Qatar’s former Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He noted that President al-Sisi’s recent visit to Doha to offer condolences reflected the deep fraternal ties between Egypt and Qatar, as well as Cairo's commitment to standing with the Qatari people.
Turning to domestic affairs after touring several agricultural, livestock, and development projects, Madbouly addressed economic concerns. He explained that the government does not adjust petroleum product prices without first conducting thorough studies that account for diverse economic variables.
He pointed out that global oil prices have rebounded to approximately $85 per barrel from a previous average of $72, presenting additional financial challenges to economies worldwide.
